The process of roof restoration does not only make your roof look good but it also adds on longevity to your roof life. The process of roof restoration in Sydney can be used on all sorts of roof materials, like concrete tiles, colorbond, terracotta tiles, galvanized iron and others. Roof restoration in Sydney helps prevent rapid deterioration of the roof, prevent water leaks, and any other damages that may be occurring to the roof.
So how do we do this? We use a high pressure cleaning system that eradicated the lichen, mold, algae or debris from the roof. Each type of roof (concrete tiles, colorbond, terracotta tiles, galvanized iron and others) though has a special method or approach to it. While we restore your roof all the broken or cracked tiles get replaced with new ones and if there are any roof tiles that are not aligned properly we put them back properly in place.
Roof Restoration Sydney – How is it done?
CONCRETE TILES
If your roof has concrete tiles, we first pressure clean the entire roof, remove the ridge caps and if need we re-bed then after having removed the old motar, then its followed by repointing all the ridge caps by applying flexible pointing mortar, we then apply the sealer or the primer coat on the entire roof. Then again apply coats with the colour of your choice.
TERRACOTTA TILES
If your roof is made up of Terracotta tiles, we don’t use high-pressure system to clean the roof of moss, algae or lichen. Instead we apply an environmentally friendly anti lichen, moss or algae solution throughout the entire roof. After that then we use the high-pressure system to clean the entire roof, remove the ridge caps and if need we re-bed them after having removed the old motar, then its followed by repointing all the ridge caps by applying flexible pointing mortar, we then apply the sealer or the primer coat on the entire roof. Then again apply coats with the colour of your choice.
METAL ROOF
If you have colorbon or galvanized iron roof, we first start of by treating any rust by grinding and applying rust converter that is applied directly to the metal roof. The Rust converter converts the rust into a chemical barrier making it moisture resistant and prevents further corrosions. Then we replace any of the sheets that is beyond repair of using just a rust converter solvent. Next we remove any nails or screws that are loose or have become rusted themselves. After having done this the metal roof gets pressure cleaned, a primer coat is then applied to the metal roof followed by additional coats with the colour of your choice.
